 Week 8 - Oregon City - February 17 - February 23, 2024

Very rainy...supper rainy week....not cold - but lots of rain.  Bruce and Vonda arrived and they have been fun guests  They spend most of the time at Bev's - which is the reason they came to Oregon.

I spent three afternoons working in the swale between First Slope and Water Pipe Slope - digging out blackberries.  Actually, I've never worked in this area - it is steep, mucky, and a difficult place to work in.  But this week I was determined to make a "dent" in the blackberry population.  I took this photo - it you look closely, you might be able to see a shove stuck in the ground and my glove put over the end of the handle.  It's to the left of the base of the big fir  just to the right of center.

I'll return to this area next and "finish" it up.

Sunday evening there was a town Hall with Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley.
We went to see what we could see and to add our dissatisfaction re: tRump.  So did a lot of other people.  the maximum number of people that could go in were already in and the rest of us were outside.  The senator did come out and stood on a chair and addressed the crowd.

The Moab Louthans were fun to have in town.  In these photos we were involved in solving puzzles....and sewing.

My friend - Jack!  Giving me his "I love you squinty look."

Week 7 - Oregon City - February 10- February 16, 2025

This week is snowed...no school on Thursday, CCC was closed Thurs sand Friday...cold and dark.

However - on Monday it was only cold AND sunny.  Anticipating the snow, we decided to wash the mini blinds from the Pacific Room upstairs (the big room...sometimes called the Western Room)) and then allow them to dry in the sun.  It was a wrestling match in the bathtub, but the hanging basket hooks on the deck brought everything under control.

Beverly's cat, Pearl, is pregnant and she gave birth to a kitten who died.....sad.  and then two days later another dead kitten was born.  Don't know exactly what is wrong.  We took them and gave them a nice burial in the flower bed...along with other pets.

Bev and Paul took a "clob" of children the the park, next to Warren's, and let them slide down the hill.

View from our bedroom

The house from a distance.

Abby and Clara came over on a snowy afternoon and played like they were little kids again.  It was fun to have them behaving like kids rather that like teenagers.

Stake Conference this weekend.  President Leptig was released.

And Bishop Poe was sustained as the new Stake President.

Weekly cat photos

Latest "fitting" of Le Support.....have I mentioned that I really like it?

 Week 6 - Oregon City -February 3 - February 9, 2025

I finally got my new guitar support - Le Support - from France, via USPS.  I am really happy!

It is infinitely adjustable to your body type and style.  It has just taken a bit of time to figure out my body type and my style.  I try it one way and then slightly adjust where to place the suction cups.

Here is one perfect combination....but since I took this photo, I have changed the locations slightly.

On Friday we went to Corvallis for a three way meet with OSU, UC Davis, and Alaska Anchorage.  OSU won...of course.  Jade was amazing, as usual.

On Sunday Jessica and Bev spoke during Sacrament meeting.  They did a wonderful job...

We have really cute cats.

 Week  5- Oregon City - January 27 - February  2, 2025

Looking through my photos for this week...there are only photos of cats, cedar seedlings, and tax related documents.....pretty slow week.

I'll do cat phots first.  When I walk in the woods, the cats no longer willingly follow me...they start our and then end up at the edge ot=f the woods watching me.  Or, maybe, they'll meet me midway someplace.

Here they are hanging out on the table in Sector #3 -licking each other.

And looing at me in the distance.

Jack is "hanging" out of his cat tree basket.

...while Zelensky is plopped on the floor.

Zelensky loves the bed

and will rouse himself to acknowledge that he is still breathing.

Occasionally both cats will play, snuggle, and lick each other

.

One afternoon when there was no rain, I worked in West Sector digging out blackberry plants.  I noticed two cedar seedling within three feet of each other.  No I just have to be patient and watch them grow.

One cold-rainy-gloomy afternoon, I went through all of last years documents and sorted out what I need  for tax preparation.

It's hard to believe, but Holland will be seven years old his week!!!!!!!!  We celebrated her birthday at Sunday night dinner.

I practiced a lot this week - a lot....  It is exciting to be able to notice progress.

 Week 4 - Oregon City - January 20- January 26, 2025

Spring is emerging slowly.  The daffodils (planted by the Brunner family) in Sector 3 are coming up.

Jude got his braces on this week.  I took this photo to remember his profile before braces.

Dad, Warren and Whitney went to Salem for an ABBA concert.  I stayed and babysat.  I was amazed at how well behaved Holland and Copeland were.

I took my guitar to practice while at Warrens....Misty wanted to help me.

For Activity Day, we the children made dioramas of Joseph Smith's First Vision.  It was a good activity.  The dioramas were made from a shoe box.
