I chose this destination because everytime I drive to the Obsidian Trailhead, I pass the trailhead for Linton Lake. Also last year, when we were in the Obsidian Limited Entry Area, Camille and I camped in Linton Meadows and the river flowing through the meadow is the Linton River which forms the waterfall at Linton Lake. So I really wanted to see the other end of the river.
On our way to the trailhead, there are always numerous cars parked at the trailhead for Proxy Falls - a sure fire clue that the trail is easy and kid friendly. So we stopped at Proxy Falls first.
We couldn't get close to the falls but we could eat lunch.
On to Linton Lake. An easy 1.9 miles one way with only 200 feet elevation gain
The cousins prepared their own meals
Walk across. This particular log was over six feet off the ground. I only know because after Camille fell off of it, we wondered. As I ran toward the sound of muffled sobs, I really did wonder how serious her injuries would be. But, lucky us....only a nasty bruise.
And exercise on. Warren is doing ballet exercises
Yoga
Simply standing on the log
Eating by the log
where Archer and Camille played the whole afternoon.

while Warren napped.
Dinner and then sacks.
We always eat at a quaint diner or cafe on our way home to Oregon City. We'd planned to eat at Poppa Al's on the road to Sublimity, but somehow along the way, we ended up on the road to Seet Home and had a Spotted Owl Hamburger at the Cedar Shack. Yes it was backwoodsish. Next year we're going on more challenging hike.
