What?????? It's Memorial Day again???!!! Weren't we just here??? But no, it has been two years since we've been to the cemetery to care for the graves of Dad's family.

We met up with Vannessah Morss whose daughter Kialey is buried here. She is buried near the main gate (which we had never seen). We all traipsed over to that area. Her daughter died when she was six (20 years ago) and Vannessah has made a really nice place at the grave site.

And....who knew??? but there were free hot dogs at a booth at the main gate which we all enjoyed.

And the best thing was a golf cart that the proprietors of the hot dog stand didn't seem to mind that all the kids wanted to play on.

And then it was time to go back to the car. Evan escorted Janie.

That afternoon Jenn had a big Memorial Day BBQ and swim party....with all the pop-sickles you could consume. They are all sitting on the new and widened stairs of Jenn's newly remodeled deck made with Timber Tech composite.
And - birthday cakes again for Ruby and Janie. Unicorn by Warren and Biscottie cake by Bev.

As for us - this was the week to re-do all of the drainage in the deck area. Everything needed to be replaced because there was some serious leakage in all the wrong places.
Here Dad has just discovered that the drainage pipe for the washer and solar collectors and water softener was seriously non functional.

At one point Malcolm said something like, "you know, you should put in an RV dump so that we could put "stuff" from the camper right into the septic tank...rather than putting it elsewhere." What a great idea Malcolm!! I explained that there were two problem with this idea. First was that it had to be completely installed by tomorrow night...and two..Dad and I have NO clue how to do that. And we stared at Malcolm......so he said he'd do it.
Dug a big trench...cut the sewer line...attach a new line!! Very easy!!...for Malcolm.

Once all the new drains had been installed, I realized how faded the green paint had become....and how could we have faded paint surround our new deck. Took me three partial days to do this.

Here is Malcolm hooking up the drainage pipe that will take all the rainwater to daylight somewhere out in the woods. That vertical pipe in the foreground is where Dad will connect the camper to the septic tank.

Malcolm put in a new faucet for draining the hot tub. Will be a lot easier to do now.

electricity and drain tube from the hot tub

Finally finished!! Spray paint marking where the underground pipes are so the framers will know how to place the foundation.

Fun things with grand kids after school.

Clara began to give away rabbits to anyone she could find around the house.

Lots of leaves to be raked up.

On Saturday there was a BIG nine Stake meeting which included three Area Seventies and Elder Uchtdorf. Jenn had been asked to prepare a dinner for thirty of these VIPs. She asked Jessica and Bev and me and Evan and Camille and McKayla to help...and Terry and Ryan. It was a lot of fun. The only disappointment was that Elder Uchtdorf did not stay for our dinner.

I hurt my foot one day when I was stepping over a pile of dirt....from one of the trenches. When my foot landed on the ground the pain was so intense that I thought I'd broken something in my foot. But an xray show no fracture. The whole trip to Idaho was difficult because I kept having cramps in my foot. Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore and called the podiatrist and now my foot is in a boot.
After I wear it for a week I have an appointment. Hopefully, by then my foot will be back to normal.

foot looks a lot better covered p in the boot.
