Week 36 - Oregon City - September 5 - September 11, 2022
Labor Day....no, we didn't go camping to Riverside, or Alder Flat or Detroit Lake...nope - we went to a county park on the Molalla River, near Canby....only 20 minutes away. Bev had been there before with her friend, Melissa, who lives in Canby. It was/is a good place. Plenty of parking, good (clean) Porta-a-Potties, plenty of room on the gravel beach (even with it being a national holiday), water that wasn't too swift or too deep.
Warren made cupcakes to help celebrate my birthday.
School has started - two weeks ago for the Scotts. Abby only has classes three days a week! She is doing violin in the school orchestra, along with Clara. I hope they "take" to it. The Louthan's started just this week. Here they are - we're on our way to the bus stop to have hot chocolate while we wait for the bus.
Ruby on her first day of kindergarten.
This was another really hot week. One day there were all sorts of weather warnings - hot weather - fires - high winds. Here was the sky one morning - it stayed that way all day.
Jessica found some old photos.
Here I am at Timothy Lake with the six kids. Probably 1989
Here we are picking up Ivan after his mission.
Here's Bev when she and I went to Louisiana and surprised Warren. It was getting to be late at night. We drove to his house (a manufactured home near a car wash...they kinda looked after the car wash),. We parked inside the car wash place. Warren and companion came home....looked up at our car parked, as though it was being washed. He looked at us and looked again and then yelled, "Mom.....Bev....is that you?"
I am working on cleaning out the area of Far West Slope - it's on the other side of the dump. Really overgrown and full of clematis and blackberries. I will be diligent and will win the overgrown battle.
We leave Monday morning for our vacation. We're going to Glacier Natl Park and then to Great Falls, MT and will follow the Lewis and Clark route until we reach the Snake River.
