Week 16 - April 17 - April 23, 2023
We are trying out the anti deer solution - tying pieces of Irish Spring Soap (Original...not Classic) to branches and shoots of plants we don't want to be eaten. A lady at Tree School says it works well. Here are little bags (mesh bags designed to hold party favors) tied on to an Acer circinatum bush that used to be huge before a bit Acer macrophyllum fell on top of it.
Warren and Whitney brought over their cats, Mishka and Caramel to stay for a month while they are gone. There was very little action - they both settled down like they've always lived here. Mishka prefers the seats of our chairs.
Or on the sleeping bag on the floor.
Oh - and the kitchen table.
Caramel really only like to lie on our bed.
They both like to look our the window.
Mishka's tummy must have been queasy the first two days.'
Look what in found in Sector 5 right at the fence line with the Barstad's - poor little fawn.
On Saturday we went with Katharine Wilson to the Clackamas Pioneer Cemetery to participate in a service project with SOLVE. Mainly it was to pick up windfall from the winter storms and drag everything to the street where it would be loaded into a truck. Dad and I cleaned off many memorials - which is what we do best.
Did a lot of work on the Slopes.
And here is a nice photo of a lonely cherry tree in the middle of all the maples.
