Ozette Triangle Evan and Bjorn - July 13-16, 2015

Some history here. In 2014 our trip was not so good. It rained a lot. Most of Bjorn's equipment was left on my living room floor - let's see ...jeans, coat, any other article of clothing that could retain body heat, and ..... why list more. Evan apparently misunderstood my intention when I said, " you bring the jet boil."  Side note - I prepared the Mountain House meal by placing the foil packet close but not too close to a cook fire and occasionally squishing it and hoping. And the fish weren't biting. And the really steep trail on the day trip went to the historic Barlow Road which was only interesting to me.

This year had to be better!  I did my research and found the Ozette Triangle listed on a site describing "hikes you can not miss in this lifetime"

 Here are stats:
 Olympic Peninsula
Coastal rainforest with unique flora and fauna
Three days and two nights
Day one - three miles on wooden board walk (to avoid walking in coastal bogs)
Elevation loss 100 ft
Day two  - three miles on beach at low tide with hermit crabs, tide pool things,
dead sea lion, an eagle, a rabbit, a dead fish, two deer actually walking on the sand, and river otters. Indian rock petroglyphs Lots of flotsam with Japanese writing - thanks to the tsunami.
Elevation gain/loss - 0
Day three - three miles on wooden Boardwalk (I suppose a boardwalk is always wooden)
Elevation gain 100 feet.

The only con was that the drive was
7 1/2 hours on roads along which were miles and miles and miles of trees. No view of the beach even though we were on Hwy 101.  Fortunately there was electronic monopoly available in backseat.

Here are visuals:

Boardwalk.

Our campsite with table made from beach debris.

Unless it is low tide, then this is westernmost.
