Oregon City, Oregon -week 40 -October 7 - October 13, 2019

We had a great time this week driving up the Clackamas to Alder Flat, hiking down to the river, and then I fished while Dad built a fire.  This was the first time since we went on our mission in 2017 that I have been fishing.  It was so therapeutic!

I'll admit this fish was small, but it was of legal length.

There was a big pile of bark dust left over from some sort of project envisioned two or three years ago.  I was determined to get rid of it - it was an eyesore and impeded the ease of blowing leaves off off the driveway

I moved all of the bark  to the area at the end of the sidewalk by where we park the cars.

Looks pretty nice now.

On Friday, we went to Hood River to the annual Harvest Festival.  Weather was perfect!!!  And the food was good too.

Pumpkin activities.

I found something I wanted to buy!!  A hammock chair.  It was really comfortable, and I think I'd like to sit and snuggle in it.  As soon as I figure out the perfect place to hang it, I will order one.

Over the weekend we drove to Seattle with Bev and Paul and family to attend a missionary homecoming for Noah Guyman who served in southern Arizona .....where it was hot - really hot.

Ate lunch at Cafe Rio first.

Had pizza dinner with Noah's family in the evening

Then went to church on Sunday and took all of the obligatory photos afterwards.

After church we went to Paine Field which is a regional airport where you can actually get close enough to see airplanes as they land.  We were there at the time of day which was supposed to be the perfect time to see lots and lots of airplanes.  Well, we saw a few.  Mostly the kids ran with their arms outstretched...pretending they were airplanes.

Then we went to a nice park near the water of Puget Sound.  The coolest thing we saw was a train transporting, to and fro,  the bodies of airplanes.

Whidbey Island in the distance.

Louthan family in the forefront.

And then ....a four hour plus drive back home......so good to get home.
