Oregon City, Oregon - Week 22 - June 1-June 7, 2020

These daisies are in the hay field on the southwest corner of the field.  They mark the beginning of the Daisy Trail.

Really, most of the week we cut out holly and filbert trees on the area south of Magnificent Marge south to the Florence Brunner Cedar.  We have a really long rope - I think about 80 feet -but I am too lazy to lengthen it out and measure it by pacing.  Anyway Dad would take the end of the rope down into the canyon, tie the trunks of the evil trees, and I'd pull the bundle up and take it to the burnpile.  Next day we'd burn and cut more and so on.  It's hard and boring and dirty, but the results are satisfying.  Here's a before and after.....for our memory

Don, the brush cutter didn't come - too much rain.  I was disappointed but rallied with cheerfulness.

But I did take the Ryobi brush cutter and walk the circuit route and cleared a path -now I can mark that off of my bucket list.  The trail is about 0.3 mile - not a long as I had thought it'd be.    I have bored all of the family by showing them the route on my phone.  When Don The Brush Cutter comes, we'll be able to extend the trail into the upper right hand corner of the map.

And better still - a GAIA GPS map with a property line overlay on the satellite view.

We took a break from working in the woods and went to the cemetery to take a photo for Find A Grave.  We took Logan with us.

The highlight of the week was the arrival of the Utah Grays Sunday evening.  What better way to celebrate than to have cake and ice cream and celebrate Archer's birthday - he is sixteen.

This shadow reminds us of our walk on the Camino de Santiago.
