Week 9 - Oregon City, Oregon - February 28 to March 6, 2022
Monday morning was the first day of the Burn Season, and IT WAS A BURN DAY!! I attacked my first burn pile on the edge of the hay field. Used the new trailer for the first time!!! it was perfect for picking up branches and other debris. I also cleared the area by the yew tree where there had been a massive holly infestation which we cleared out two years ago....but there was a lot of little stuff left. The trailer exceeded my expectations.
Some photos from the woods. The first is an Osmaronis cerasformis in full bloom amidst the tree trunks of the maples and firs.
This one is one of the "fields of daffodils" that is a gift from the Brunners.
I did a bunch of drawings this week. My favorites are the three bunnies.
Bererly's kids and also Abby spent Friday night and then Saturday. I took the girls (Clara, Abby and Gretchen) to our drawing class on Saturday morning. After lunch I told all the kids that they ahd to turn off the computers, put their coats and shoes on, and go outside! and "You can't come back inside for two hours!". 1e had a great time outside. ?The girls wandered the trails while Jude roamed the hills and jumped the creeks. Clara and Abby performed a skit of some sort on Malcolm's Bridge, June found long strands of clematis vines and drug them around everywhere, Ruby helped me build some more steps...she likes to help.
Copeland got a haircut Sunday night. He was "triple teamed".
Warren made a "I Stand for Ukraine" cake. Me too..
