Week 51 - Oregon City - December 19-December 25, 2022
Tie was the first of two weeks of fulfilling birthday activities for the grandchildren.
On Tuesday we took Logan and Gretchen out to "Eat Something". Last year we did this with Logan and went to Jamba Juice where he could order any thing he wanted....and topped it off with orange chicken from Panda Express. Logan wanted a "repeat", and Gretchen wanted to join in. So we did it; the food was very tasty. Afterwards we just wandered around and let the two kids do whatever they wanted. Here they are naming the koi fish in the pond.
Here they are proving that they are not too big to get into the kiddie cars.
Then to the candy store - which was just like the bulk candy at WINCO....but definitely more flashy and colorful. You'd thought they'd never purchased bulk candy before!
At the Temple, prior to Christmas, there are nightly Christmas musical programs. Whitney was on the play list for Tuesday. She played beautifully for almost an hour
Afterwards we went to Oswego Grill for refreshment.
Wednesday we took Jane and Holland on their Christmas Activity....a hike....can't believe Jane chose a hike..and of course Holland wanted to do what Jane wanted. We went to the Newell Creek Trail which turned out to be a great, close-by Hiking trail....even though it was kind of boring. The kids a a great time.
Afterwards we all over did it on A&W root beer floats.
Wednesday night was Activity Day when the kids finished off their family portraits and wrapped them.
Thursday we took Shelby, Tyler, Evan, and Camille out "to get something to eat". We/they chose to go to Rigobertos!
The ice storm started on Thursday, and we had a trick time getting home from Rigobertos. The ice lasted all day Friday and into Saturday. Our woods were beautimous.
Christmas Day was nice - we had only one hour of church with all three wards that go to our building. It was weird to have all those strangers....who used to be friends. Sunday afternoon I helped Cari Louthan make two quilts, one for Clara and one for Jude.
On Christmas Eve we had a nice dinner/party.
Sunday afternoon I helped Cari Louthan sew quilts for both Jude and Clara.
