Week 40 - Oregon City, October 2 - October 8, 2023
This was the week that the cats went to the vet and were "snipped". I knew it needed to be done, but, honestly I felt badly about doing it. In the long run, you don't want your male cats wandering everywhere and getting into fights....and especially you don't want them "spraying" in the house. We took them to the vet at 8 am and picked them up at about 4:00
The evening after the surgery, the cats were "wild" - - running all over the place. I think it was the after effects of their sedation. Zelensky seemed fine about everything. Jack, on the other hand, seemed to have difficulty walking with his hind legs....and he couldn't "jump up" as he normally could. After about a week, Jack's jumping ability returned, which was good.
We made grape juice all week long - and took photos of the kitties.
Trying the "downward cat" pose
It was really exhausting
And Jack had to help him recover.
Abby had a sleepover (a camp-over) on Friday. She had caught a really nice trout at the Daddy Daughter activity, and I'd told her I'd cook it for her. We set up the tent in Sector 2 and built a fire in the Solo Stove. I cooked it about 2.5 min on each side....perfect.
The fish was really yummy and served the three of us.
We celebrated Ivan's birthday on Sunday....his birthday is on October 9. Hard to believe, but he is 47. Warren made him a tiramisu cake - we sang to him over Facetime.
