 Week 11 - Oregon City - March 11- March 17, 2024

This is what I did during the week

Walk/work in the woods                                                                                                            Clean and organize the food storage in the basement (when it was raining).                              Take photos of the cats                                                                                                        Celebrate Malcolm and Camille' birthdays.

I was excited to find a blooming plant of Spring Beauty.  Claytonia lanceolata or Dentaria nuttallii.

Some critter is eating the Irish Spring soap I put out to discourage the deer from eating our newly planted trees.  Instead - the critter is eating the soap.  We've put out a wildlife camera and have seen racoons, possums and deer, but nothing eating the soap.

A poor, dead tree on Chisolm's property fell over the fence line at the top of First Slope and made a mess - but it's hard to tell from the photo.  The tree was massively covered with dead ivy...the ivy probable killed it.

This is the same view after I spent a couple of hours cutting the trunk into 44 inch lengths and cutting up all of the ivy branchlets.

I'm cleaning up and reorganizing our food storage (now that Malcolm has moved his stuff to his house) that is in the fruit room and on the shelves.  It's a thankless job.....I don't know how I want to do it...sigh.  This old old can of orange juice finally - - in the not too distant past - finally disintegrated and the contents turned to black ooze that was all over the shelves.

When I walk in the woods...and when I encourage the cats to accompany me, they become my hiking companions.  I finally found Zelensky in the apple tree.

He crawled /jumped down.

And they both followed me.

They lag behind sniffing and exploring; I call to them; the run and race to catch up;
they are winded and lie down with their sides heaving and their mouths open and panting.
Misc cat photos

Sunday evening we celebrated Malcolm's birthday - on the 21st he'll be 36 on the 21st.

And Camille was sung to also - she'll be 20 on the 18th.

Mishka is not doing well........she hasn't been well for a while......she's dying.  We are all sad - especially Warren.
