Week 33 - Sutton Lake Part II - August 4 - August 10, 2025
Monday August 4 - we went to a very nice river with a trail, but I can't remember the name - it is close to Mapleton. The hiking was great until we came to the place where the bridge/trail had been destroyed. some of us crawled over the debris and carried on while others went down to the river and walked upstream through the water and over the rocks.
We stopped at a big pool where there were rocks from which to jump.
Tuesday the 5th. - we went to the beach behind the motel. l This is my favorite beach to visit when were in Florence....maybe because there is a nice restroom at the motel. The kids really had fun playing in the waves.
Wednesday the 6th - time to pack up and go home.
We had some excitement on the way home. Dad was just passing an old Cadillac that was following a U-Haul trailer. Just as we were next to the Caddy, it began to drift into our lane. I yelled ad Dad who couldn't do anything ....and the caddy hit our truck and I could hear scraping all the way down the side. The guy didn't even stop But...we go photos of the car the the plates. Sigh...............we've taken the truck into a shop to be fixed. Needs a new right front fender and a new bumper and a new hub cap. We turned in a police but we'll never hear anything. With our insurance we only have to pay $100.. I am sure our rates will go up, even though nothing was our fault.
On Friday we took Holland and Copeland for their Christmas present....geocaching. The kids had fun....mostly because we'd taken them to places where we knew we cold find the cache.
Afterwards we went to A&W for lunch!
On Sunday we celebrated Haley's birthday!
