Scotland 2015 - Day 9 - August 24, 2015

"Have I done any good in the world today?"
Have I helped any frogs in need"

Yep - that's me.  I can truly said, "I have"

This is the caravan park where we stayed last night.  It was in the boonies and all was really nice and peaceful.

The showers in the bathroom were very cramped - like there was no place to hang your stuff, and the shower head was directly overhead which I don't like - yeah yeah - first world problems.
Turned on the water and got in.  I immediately knew that the drain wasn't working very well as the water was backing up.  At this point it was too late to change my mind.  Shampooed up; eyes are closed; rinsed; looked down - there was a frog by my feet floating lazily in the water?  At first I thought it was a small plastic toy frog, you know, one like Logan would have in his pocket.  Perhaps this plastic frog had been clogging the drain?  Looking more carefully I concluded that it was a real frog - a real dead frog.
Hmm.  What to do?  I wanted to remove it but I didn't want to touch it.  Tried kicking it over into the shower pan into the stall next door.  Too much water.

The only option was to continue my ablutions.  Hair conditioner on; eyes closed; rinse; open eyes; look down.  This time there as another frog!   A lving frog frantically frog kicking with his cute little legs trying to get clear of the drain.  This was too much - I was not going to share the shower stall with a frog in distress.  With my hand I removed one flip flop (note key word, "flip"), bent over and with my flip flop I "fliped" the frog out of my stall into the one next door.  Success!

Quickly finished, dried, dressed, exited my stall and looked in to the stall next door.  Sure enough, the little frog was there.

obviously stressed and trying to crawl his way out.

I grabbed him was some tissue.  This is what the belly of a frog looks like

AndI took him outside and put him in the grass

I'm thinking, "What about the other stalls?"  In the stall on the other side of me, in the corner....there was something brown.  I got down and looked closely.  Was it yet another frog?  Got some more tissue, grabbed him and put it outside on the grass too.

I hope the mower doesn't get him/her.  To be a good citizen, I removed the dead frog (note hair from the drain, ick)  and placed it in the trash

Now to today's travel log.

Today we went to the Highland Folk Museum and spent about four hours there.  It was started in 1944 and now includes about 80 acres.  The two main attractions are a working farm that is intepreted for the 1930's and a reconstruction of an early 1700's Highland township.

There were lots of other buildings but I've seen displays like this in other places.  I liked th 1700's village better
