Oregon City, Oregon - Week 25 - June 17 - June 22, 2019

This week we got closer and closer to finishing the deck.  When the aluminum vertical posts were installed, Dad determined that the post would be a perfect place to put an electrical outlet.  The aluminum was really thick and the drilling job turned out to be bigger than expected

Here Dad is removing his weather station so the new posts and horizontal beams can go into place.

Travis installed the 2 x 4 on the side of the house so we can hook up the shade cloth.

Dad and Janie helped

We've always had a bit of a leak in the basement whenever there is a heavy rain with the wind from the north.  The plan is to use the new "magic"cement mix.  Bjorn and Evan moved all the wood so Rad can apply the cement to the perfect leaky spot.

The crack on the retaining wall by the new basement stairs has been cleaned out and is ready for the magic cement

Now, surly , there will be no more leaking by this back door.

Natalie returned from her six weeks in Ghana and brought Dad a coveted gift...probably made in China, but purchased in Ghana.

Warren added to his resume for the 'favorite uncle'award and took kids to the park and all sorts of places.

Bjorn and Evan spent one afternoon splitting wood.  Go young men!!!

Wednesday (April 19th)was my big day - the day my ruined summer began.  I had surgery on my foot to repair a ruptured anterior tibialis tendon.

I spent the rest of the week sleeping, elevating my foot, and figuring out how to be very nimble on my knee scooter.
