 Week 47 - Oregon City- Thanksgiving Week - November 20 - November 26, 2023

Ivan, Renee, Bjorn, and Magnus arrived on Monday night....finally.  It is hard to wait all day for them to arrive and to be checking Find My Friends every two hours or so.  They are planning to stay a week and leave early Sunday morning.

MONDAY - Chili and cornbread for dinner

TUESDAY - must not have done anything interesting.

WEDNESDAY - We went to Corner 14 for dinner.  I got a Veggie Bowl which is really good.

Then to Crack and Cheese for ice-cream.  Kinda crowded.

THURSDAY - talk about a lot of people.  Manor Grays (2), Utah Grays (4), Front Grays (4), and Rip Tide Grays (5). Malcolm Grays (2)), Donaldson Park Scotts (7), Louthan Acres (6), Nancy and Dex (2), Marci and Darren (2), Lisa and Doron (2), Dolores (1), Gary and Darlo (2)  -- Let me count....39 - whew!

FRIDAY - for years I have been bothered by a piece of trash that a former inhabitant of either our place or the next door neighbor's place had thrown over the edge and into a gulley that heads down into the woods.  And what is/was it......a toilet.  I enlisted the help of Evan and Bjorn and Ray and Ivan.  Bjorn was the lucky one who got to tie the bowline around his waist and be lowered down the nearly perpendicular incline.  It was steep and slippery and Bjorn lost his footing and - for a bit - experienced the "my feet are above my head" feeling.

With Evan on the end of the rope and pulling on it, Bjorn managed to right himself and continue down.

He's got the rope around the toilet.  (It had a pink plastic toilet seat)

Evan is pulling!

Upward movement is impeded by the Grand Fir

Angle of rope was slightly changed, and the toilet emerged from it's gully prison

Bjorn was a little more difficult to extract from the gully - we didn't want to rip him apart as he was pulled him through the blackberries.

The victors with the prize

SATURDAY was the baby shower for Haley and Jaime.  It was a nice affair with yummy food, good friends, and lots of useful gifts.

I made her this quilt.

Saturday was also the open house at the Stake Center for Val Glenn who was celebrating his 80th birthday.  Here he is with two other old guys - Dad and Dick Conlee.

SUNDAY - we celebrated Gretchen's 12th birthday

Cat photo for the week - Ruby and Zelensky

Incredibly bright full moon on Sunday night.  Dad took this photo at 8:30 pm on nighttime mode.  Looks like a cozy Yorkshire cottage....or something.
