I had my eye appointment this week. I had gone three weeks previously but, but my dry eye syndrome symptoms had been so bad that I needed to come back after being diligent with eye drops and heated eye pads once or twice a day. Got my new prescription and headed off to Costco to order new lenses which should be ready in about a week. I'm excited to have a new prescription that should help me see better. Afterwards, I bought a hot dog - it was so good and so American!
My big accomplishment of the week was to complete "moving in to the new kitchen" Prior to the remodel, most everything was packed into boxes and taken down to the basement. So, for the first month that we've been home, we've lived in an incomplete kitchen But now everything has been moved back into cupboards, or taken to the DI, or placed lovingly in the trash bin.

A few things are still missing:
rolling pin, metal bread pans, immersion blender. And non-kitchen things - Ray's shoe caddie, orange and green duffel bags that were in our closet, grey rain cape, two director's chairs with fold out tables. Who knows what I'll find as I continue my domestic archaeological dig.
Halloween was this week - the kids were so excited. I made a costume for Holland - she portrayed Ruth Bader Ginsberg with wig, gavel and lace collar. Surprisingly many people knew who she was.
I went up to Travis' and walked around the neighborhood with him and the kids.
Eric was Jack Skellington from the movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. The picture is without the mask because, with it, he kept bumping into outdoor obstacles.

Shelby was a witch who handed out the candy. Gretchen was a vampire, and Ann was a Mom.

Here's the Brunner Road mob at our door

Tyler did not trick or treat with the group
The mechanical transformer is Logan
Ruby and Janey were a frog and bumblebee

Jude was a dinosaur who is reclining in the photo

Paul was a Minion. I thought he was a beekeeper and had to be corrected

Clara was a mermaid

Abby a princess...what else?

Camille is the beautiful witch

The family Louthan

Warren the cat is holding the froggy Ruby

Jude has morphed into the cat

Jessica and Bev went to Palm Springs with several friends to celebrate her birthday. They left early
Friday morning are returning later the following Monday. We took care of their kids except for the weekend.
This was pretty common

Janey is the best eater of all our grandchildren.
Jude was trying to be so helpful with flipping the chicken filets.....but not quite tall enough to avoid the rim of the hot frying pan. He required a cold water drench and then relaxation on the pile of bedding......from the camper

He's just pretending to be asleep.
We had corn on the cob which Jude really enjoyed.

Camille has been so helpful while Jessica has been gone. She met and exceeded expectations. An ice cream treat was in order

Saturday morning we went to the memorial service for Barbara Maginnis who had had bile duct cancer. Warren, Travis, and Malcolm went too, in order to give their support to Dave.
Then Saturday night was the home football game against USC. I won't even mention who won. We ate at American Dream Pizza

Went to the Alumni Center to see what we could get for free.
Miraculously the rain did not make an appearance, but we were prepared for it with our Gateway Rain Capes in our backpacks.

Goal for next week --- re-organize the basement area by the clothes hamper. It was/is in a horrible mess having all the kitchen stuff piled there and then having camping equipment in various stages of disarray.
