Week 18 - Oregon City, Oregon - April 25 to May 1, 2022
There was a lot of activity in the woods this week.
I have loved watching the Acer macrophylum trees bloom and the seeds develop.
A big dead tree finally fell during the winter and landed in the creek between first Slope and Water Pipe slope. It was a bear of a job to cut it up, pull the pieces out and burn them.
Dad, in his miraculous way, fixed the pressure washer and spent several days cleaning the outside surfaces.
In the Far West Dump, a huge maple fell over....probably in the ice storm. The log lies there, laying across the fence with Mr Chisolm. I've mentioned it to Steve Smith, and I think, someday, he'll come over with his veeeeeerrryyyyy long chain saw and cut it into pieces. The two red spots on the log are my red gloves.
Warren and kids came over - we went on a walk in the woods.
The rhododendrons which I purchased for $5/pot are budding/blooming.
Lovely little lily - Lilium Hookeri var oreganum Fair bells
And....we have tow of these trees. Rhamnus purshiana or Cascara. Very fun!!
Our big Dogwood tree is magnificent. Cornus Nuttali. The top is full of big white blooms that can be seen best from the area right behind the barn.
On Friday, a bunch of us - mostly from various friends from church, went to see Hamilton. I loved it!!!!! I especially loved King George.
