Oregon City Oregon - Week 34 - August 19 - August 25, 2019

Evan left for his mission thus week.  Monday evening he was set apart by President Leptich.  It was a great occasion.  A lot of love was felt.  Good advice given.  Both Jessica and Ryan spoke their thoughts about Evan, and Evan did the same - about his mission.  He said "I feel confident about my decision to serve a mission".

Then outside for the "almost"last photos.

Tuesday morning he left at 6 am for a flight to SLC whit a connection to Mexico.  He sent a confirmation email that he'd arrived safely and a photo of himself with his companion Elder
Still

Thursday the 22nd Natalie went to the Temple for her own Endowment..

On Friday the 23rd it was suddenly realized, by all, that we hadn't been to the beach for the whole summer.  Miraculously, we left early in the morning and arrived at Canon Beach by 10:30 - surely a milestone for our families.  It was a perfect day at the beach.

My goal for the week was to throw all of the wood, that Ryan had piled into a pyramid, into the basement.  I wanted to get it stacked too.

I had helpful assistants

And Jude helping by eating a carrot and seeing how much chewed up carrot he could fit into his mouth.

Ruby was a champ

AS the pile shrunk in size, two tires were reveled at the edge - like finding The Iceman in a retreating glacier in the Alps

Camille and Clara were the best in the basement stacking department.

The pile is gone

I'm 'done" too.

Now, that the wood pile had vanished, we could load up the camper and head off to Meridian, Idaho for Rachael Mulberry's Homecoming.

And the 'honored' Sister Mulberry

and her family

Four other Young Volunteers who had served in Kazakhstan showed up..   Somebody took this photo and posted it on Facebook.  Dad and I concur with the text.

There was an Open House in the afternoon and a Youth Fireside in the evening.  At 7:00 sharp we left, loaded into the truck, and off we went to Oregon.  We spent the night at at Deadman's Pass Rest Stop and made it back home to Oregon City by 11:00 am Monday Morning.

A full week, indeed.
